Understanding Florida HOA Regulations

Built on Trust Maintained with Pride

A homeowners association in Florida is a nonprofit entity that governs a residential subdivision under a set of legally binding rules and regulations. Membership in an HOA is mandatory for all property owners in the community. Homeowners are subject to regular HOA dues and must comply with all covenants outlined in the community’s governing documents.

It is recommended that homebuyers review the HOA’s CC&Rs (Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions), Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, and community rules before purchasing in a deed-restricted neighborhood.

Meet Your HOA Board

The Bellingham Oaks HOA Board of Directors is responsible for managing the financial, legal, and operational matters of the community. Board members are elected by homeowners and typically reside within the community. They serve as unpaid volunteers and handle the budgeting process, contract decisions, policy enforcement, and homeowner communications.

In accordance with Florida Statutes, all newly elected or appointed board members must complete a 4-hour certification course within 90 days of their appointment.
